Picnic

Ok, so we’ve been planning to have a picnic for a while now, but just had not gotten to do so. We planned it a couple of times, but for one reason or another it never occurred. We had talked about maybe having it a couple of weekends ago, but we hadn’t gotten in contact with Melly, so we just figured it was another no. Then later on that afternoon Melly called back. I told her that we wanted to have a picnic & she said yes, so we planned it right there and then, in like 5 minutes. I was out & about, but told Melly and Roland that as soon as I got back I would call them and we would take off. I did, we went to H.E.B. (our local grocery store) & bought what we needed. Then we went to the park. We laid our blankets on the ground and took out all our items for the picnic. We were the only ones actually on the ground, but that is how a picnic truly is done & that’s how we wanted to have our picnic. People did stare at us, but that did not bother us. We were truly enjoying it and we were completely relaxed. It was a beautiful day and the breeze was just perfect. Although this picnic was not planned, I don’t think we could have chosen a more beautiful day. We were not able to stay as long as we would have liked, but it was still great. We had finally had our picnic!

Smores

So another thing we recently decided to do was make a bonfire and make some smores. (This was done before we created our list) We were going to hang out one night and were wondering what we should do. We had mentioned before that we should make smores, so we figured why not. The previous nights had been cool anyway so we decided it was a good idea. We went to the store and bought everything we needed & then some. Lol. Then we got home and tried making the fire. I don’t think any of us had ever created a fire before because this was a whole lot harder than we expected. We were there forever and just could not make it. We tried adding more lighter fluid, paper, all kinds of stuff, but we just couldn’t get it. We did…eventually. I think it took us about an hour, if not more to get it started. We then let it burn for a while & started on our smores. It was then that we found out Roland had never had a smore! We were a bit surprised, especially since he had just gone along with us when we said that we should make them, so we figured he had done it before. We each had a few smores, a few drinks, chips; we basically just snacked on junk food. We then started blowing bubbles as well. A little random, I know, but why not? All in all it was a great night, even though we did get off with a slow start.

Our List

Not too long ago we created a list of things we wanted to accomplish this year. We decided that we wanted to live our lives our way and do the things we wanted to do, not what was “the norm”.

Although, we had mentioned things we would like to do whenever we were out with each other, we had never decided to make a list until…

One night while we were driving to go downtown, Melly was telling us a story about something that had recently happened to her. As we do with every story anyone of us says, we started interrupting her because it would remind us of something else, but we would stop ourselves and say, “I’ll tell you when you’re done”. But as we know, we don’t always remember everything, so Roland brought out his phone and made a note of the story I was going to tell them so that we would remember. Luckily he did and all stories were said. We then arrived downtown and were driving around, singing at the top of our lungs. “Hey, slow it down. What do you want from me? What do you want from me??????......” Anyway, back to the story, during one of the songs that we were not singing something was mentioned about doing one of the things now on our list. (We’re not too sure on exactly what the first thing was but it was something that we had already mentioned to each other.) We were all talking at once, saying how we should do that one day, then came something else. Then we remembered how Roland had just created a list on his phone and we thought, “Well why not start one so that we don’t forget?” He wrote down the things we mentioned, and we continued with more and more things that we wanted to do and pretty soon had a list of about 12 things.

We were very excited about our list, and continued driving around and singing. We then passed by one of the bridges downtown that has lights under it that change color and decided on the next round we would go through it. We did and we decided we wanted to get off and take some pictures of it. We did and then we started to get closer to the street. Melly was laughing at how there was a couple of pieces of pizza on a bench, and we started to walk that way, then (well Melly might be upset, but I’m gonna tell you anyway J) this car stopped. It was full of black guys and they were making kissing sounds at Melly. It was quite funny. I was behind her and I did not notice them approaching and stop, and when I did, it was because Melly walked back towards Roland and I was left there. They continued making kissing sounds and asking questions such as “Do you think I’m cute/sexy?” They then left and we told Melly that she attracts “chocolate”. She said that I do too, but we know it’s not true, they stopped for her. Lol. Anywho they left and we continued taking pictures (& teasing Melly). We then crossed to the other side of the street and it’s a bridge that is at an angle, and we said, “Look we should go up the bridge” (since it was one of the items on our list, we figured we should do that then. I’m not sure why we said we should add that to our list, I guess it is just something different, something out of the ordinary and well that’s how our brains work, so we added it to our list.) We walked all the way up the bridge to where you could touch what is the bottom of the road that forms the bridge. Let me tell you, it’s a whole lot easier getting up there than it is getting back down. Once you’re up there and look down it looks a bit steeper than you imagine, but there were no accidents and all fine. We then got back in the car and continued driving around.

We were all very excited because we were able to cross off an item from our list and we had just created it. We have added a couple of things since then, and done other things on our list as well. We hope to be able to accomplish all those things and anything else we add on that list within this year. I think we can definitely do it, and well, we’ll continue to post with updates.

All About Us

Well, we are Roland, Melissa and Sara and together we are Romesa. We came up with Romesa randomly one night during a bonfire, and well now here we are. The three of us have been friends for about 2 1/2 years now, although feels like a lifetime.

We usually do things very randomly. We don’t plan things to do because for the most part it doesn’t end up happening (although, there are times when we actually do follow through). We are not the greatest decision makers either; therefore sometimes we end up wasting some time because we cannot come up with an idea or decide on which choice to choose from. We do the most random things as well. Rather than going to the clubs or movies or things that are typical for people our age to do, we do what ever idea pops into our minds at that exact moment(for the most part). Of course we do those things every so often, but we enjoy doing different things. We have even had a 2 a.m. game of badminton, talk about random, but it was great. It’ll be one of our stories that you could later read all about. We are all about trying new things and living life. We are not too worried about what others are gonna think; we’re going to do what we want and live life our way.
